Education That Works is about high-yield investments. It's about investing in educational initiatives that help students relate their classroom experiences to real world careers. It's about investing for businesses, educators, and parents as they join together to work for a better future for our young people. Ultimately, it's about investing in our communities and our future leaders.
Education That Works, a Non-Profit Corporation, was developed by a group of business, education, and community leaders to build a portfolio of successful educational models. ETW brings together proven programs, many of which were developed by the nationally known Tech Prep and School to Work initiatives. These programs include learning activities and experiences that enhance academic, technical, and workplace knowledge and skills -- from elementary school through college. With federal and state funding being eliminated or decreased, ETW was created to help continue these vital initiatives through private resources.
We also recognize that a successful education requires more than just books and a classroom. ETW initiatives emphasize collaboration among educators, businesses, students, parents and communities. Students who have participated in ETW programs are making more money than their peers, have a better work ethic and are prepared for lifelong learning.
Our future depends on the success of our children, and their success depends on the investments we make in their education and development. That's an investment worth making.
